Farewell Day, the short family drama directed by Farzad Ranjbar, has won at the Goddess on the Throne Film Festival, also known as Festivali i Filmit “Hyjnesha ne fron”, in Albania.

FilmWay reports that the film competed in the festival program and was named one of the winning works after attracting the jury’s attention. The Albanian festival presents short, feature, documentary and experimental films, with an emphasis on creative storytelling, artistic identity and cultural expression.

In the NORA VISION Programs catalogue, Farewell Day is presented as a completed 21-minute Persian-language short film with English subtitles. The film follows a man who returns home from the hospital to spend his final days with his family. Instead of calm, he finds his home overwhelmed by grief and emotional collapse, and he tries to offer hope to those around him while facing his own approaching death.

The award adds another international recognition to the film’s festival journey and underlines the emotional reach of a story built around family, loss and the difficult work of saying goodbye.
